Illinois Spring Snow Goose Hunts
As the regular waterfowl season is winding down, the best hunting is just starting. Hunting the Spring Light Snow Goose Conservation season is one of a kind experience. You will have the chance to see the sky covered with migrating snow geese for miles. This massive migration and the Illinois Conservation order gives us the opportunity to hunt using electronic calls and unplugged shotguns and no daily limits. The spring snow goose hunting season starts at the beginning of February so make sure you book well in advance to insure you hunting spot.
Snow Goose Hunting
Every spring millions of Snow Geese start their 3,000 mile migration from their wintering grounds in southern United States and Mexico to their Artic breeding grounds. Following the Mississippi flyway, spring snow geese migrate north in large high-flying flocks. Snow Goose hunting can become more addicting than any other type of waterfowl hunting. With thousands of snow, blue and ross geese coming down into your decoys, it is one of the greatest experiences you will ever witness.
Snow Goose Hunting can also be one of the most frustrating experience if you have never done it before. Knowing where they are coming from, where they are going and how the weather is going to effect the hunt all comes with experience.
Located in the South Central Duck and Goose Zone, at Gander Hill you will be hunting over decoy spreads that range from 1200 to 2,500 decoys including full body decoys, sillosocks and motion decoys. All of our spring snow goose hunts take place in corn stubble fields in heated pits. We use state of the art digital e-callers with high quality speakers. At Gander Hill Goose Club we take an average of 5-6 hunters in a party, but can accommodate larger parties upon request.
So if you are looking for a spring snow goose hunt that you will never forget, call Gander Hill Goose Club to book your hunt today.
